It all started when…

Foundational skills are key to all subsequent education and work skills. 263 million children worldwide, nearly one in 10, do not go to school. Even when in school, millions of children worldwide are not learning.

In Kyrgyzstan more than half of 8th graders cannot meet state standards. In India, only 44% of 8th graders can perform a 2nd grade math.

Teachers in under-resourced schools are often least qualified and least trained. Most digital materials are in English – excludes absolute majority of poor children. Count culturally and contextually distant from reality of poor kids. Low bandwidth makes online video views impossible for most, even in school. Disconnect between content and delivery platforms
